3 Neighbourhoods in 3 Days

With only 3 days to take in the beautiful architecture and quaint neighbourhoods, this itinerary is for those who love to walk while finding those quaint corners, the lively patios and the cute shops or markets full of treasures to bring home.

While this city is chock full of museums, tours and sites, it is also a vibrant city where people are out enjoying a drink on patios, even in winter (expect heaters and blankets at the ready). It would be a shame to pack your itinerary without taking time out to take in the views and watch the world go by.

Travel Tip: Take the train into the city from the airport - it is so easy to do right from the Schiphol airport. It is much cheaper than using a taxi or ride share.

4 days 3 nights

Travel Season: April to October is ideal although I did the trip in Feb and it was still great. For those looking to see tulips, April is the best time to plan a visit.

Tips: Book your must-see spots ahead of time to avoid line-ups or disappointment. Ours was the Ann Frank Huis.

Cost: There are lots of great value hotel and restaurant options just outside the main centre and still walking distance to all the sites.

With limited time in Amsterdam, pick 3 of your must-do activities and allocate ample time for spontaneous adventures, leisurely patio time, and exploring the city's neighbourhoods.

There are 3 suggested neighbourhoods to explore in 3 days:

de Wallen (centrum), de Pijp and Jordaan.

This will give you a chance to take in the beauty of Amsterdam while hitting your must-do list.

Amsterdam's vibrant markets, such as the Albert Cuyp Market and the Museum Market, offer a delightful shopping experience. For boutique shopping, explore the charming streets of De 9 Straatjes.

The dutch patio game is strong! If the sun is out, the patios will be hopping. Between the walking tour and canal cruise, take time to sit and enjoy time on the patio.

if I had to pick one museum to visit, it would be Anne Frank’s Huis. Book well in advance as it will sell out. Tickets open up six weeks in advance.
